Amy Frost, B.S., PharmD, RPh
Chief Pharmacy Officer
By the time Amy started college, she had already developed a laser-focused blueprint regarding what she wanted to do once she grew up. While studying for her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Chemistry at Montana State University-Bozeman, she completed summer internships with NIH-Rocky Mountain Laboratories in nearby Hamilton, where she studied cellular cytokine production of target cells post C. trachomatis transmission with ELISA, agarose PCR and RT-PCR methods.
Additionally, during her college years, she pursued further research with the MSU Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Optical Technology Center. And Amy was a collaborating author of various publications exploring Photonics Applications and Bipoloran Formations of dendrimers and potential applications for both security and healthcare systems.
The next step in Amy’s education plan took her to pharmacy school at the University of Montana- Missoula, where she specialized in natural medicine and geriatrics, and did an internship in Costa Rica studying medicinal properties of native plants and providing healthcare education.
After graduating with a PharmD degree in 2005, she accepted a full-time position at a retail pharmacy and a part-time consulting position for nursing home facilities. Two years later, she purchased a retail pharmacy, where she developed unique programs focusing on education in diabetes, vaccination clinics and natural medicine for the local community.
In 2013 she started a compounding pharmacy in Missoula, Mont., where she specialized in providing diversified therapy options to patients and collaboration with physicians for alternatives. The establishment of operations required the design and commissioning of both nonsterile and sterile compounding facilities, multi-state licensure both professional and facility, accreditations from certifying entities, quality control programs and management.
This all served as a perfect training ground for her compounding work at OSRX (originally Pinnacle Compounding), which she joined in 2016.
Amy has attended a multitude of compounding certificate programs and is actively involved with compounding associations as a member and volunteer.
