Rubin Kim
Chief Operating Officer
Rubin Kim serves as Chief Operating Officer of Ocular Science, bringing 23+ years of financial and operational leadership to the role. He joined Ocular Science as Vice President of Finance, where he played a key role in closing a $16.5 million senior secured term loan, leading the company’s first-year financial statement audit, and driving improvements in COGS analysis and inventory management.
As COO, Kim spearheaded a major operations automation initiative and scaled company operations for continued growth.
Mr. Kim’s career spans financial restructuring, strategic partnerships, treasury management, and business exits across multiple industries, consistently delivering value through operational efficiency and disciplined financial planning. Prior to Ocular Science, he served as Vice President of Finance at Building Industry Partners, a private equity firm, where he also served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Aligned LBM, a Building Industry Partners portfolio company. Before that, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Macpherson Energy Corporation, following earlier roles in SEC reporting and Transaction Support at The Walt Disney Company and Occidental Petroleum Corporation. He began his career at KPMG LLP.
Mr. Kim is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and Certified Global Management Accountant. He holds a Master of Accounting from the University of Southern California’s Leventhal School of Accounting and a B.A. in International Studies, with a Minor in Management, from the University of California, Irvine.
